Location
Tapolca, a town famous for its caves and streams, is situated in the west part of the Balaton highlands. Below the hotel there is a karst cave, which is not only a beautiful sight, but also offers a special microclimate and curative treatment. HUNGUEST Hotel Pelion is situated in the city centre, in a 4-ha-large park, directly above the cave ideal for curing respiratory diseases. Unique in Europe is the direct connection between our hotel and the grotto.

Number of rooms: 228, of which 212 double rooms, 8 apartments, 4 suites with jacuzzi. There are 4 rooms for physically disabled persons. All rooms have television (HBO), telephone, Internet access and minibar. The bathrooms have bath-tub/shower and toilet. There are rooms for non-smoking guests and rooms with parquet. Most of the rooms have a loggia. The hotel is fully air-conditioned.

Dining and entertainment
The restaurant offers Hungarian, international and "bio" dishes. Room service around the clock. In the lobby bar you will find a wide range of coffees and drinks, with music in the evenings. In summertime grill terrace and pool bar are also available.

Medicinal grotto
The microclimatic parameters of the air in the cave are constant and no aggressive outside factors are involved. The air is practically free of pollens and the temperature is constant (14-16 °C). The humidity is high and there is no dust. These factors in themselves have a medicative (in case of allergy, asthma and other respiratory disorders) and tranquillising effect. Indication
Asthmatic diseases, bronchitis, allergic diseases involving the respiratory tract.

Contraindication
Staying in the grotto does not have any known contraindications!

Bath cure
The thermal water contains hydrogen carbonate, sulphate, calcium, magnesium, and many trace elements. The dissolved mineral content is higher than 1,000 mg/litre.

Bath cure - Indications

• degenerative forms of rheumatic and locomotor diseases (e.g. arthrosis, spondylarthrosis, discopathy)
• chronic diseases of the spine and joints with a resulting inflammation (e.g. PCP, Bechterew disease)
• connective tissue rheumatism (diseases of the muscular and articular ligaments)
• secondary articular diseases, articular pains caused by metabolic disorders (e.g. gout)
• status following fractures, accident injuries, and locomotor disorder related operations, especially the
• treatment and rehabilitation of limb fractures
• chronic and peripheral complaints related to the nervous system and primarily caused by mechanical reasons(e.g. ischialgia, polyneuropathy, paresis)
• treatment before and after articular and intervertebral disk operations (e.g. in the post-treatment of rachicele)
• chronic gynaecological diseases

Bath cure - Contraindications

• malignant tumour
• explicit disorders of the blood circulation, pacemaker
• very high blood pressure
• acute diseases entailing an inflammation (in an active phase of phlebitis and arthritis)
• acute and chronic infectious diseases (e.g. tuberculosis, hepatitis,)
• active ulcer (gastric and intestinal)
• within six weeks after a therapeutic X-ray treatment
• pregnancy

Children discounts
In the room of their parents children up to 4 years of age receive accommodation with breakfast and meal free of charge. Between 4 and 12 years of age children receive 30% discount (not on extra bed) on accommodation with breakfast and meal.
